How it works

Getting started is simple

Get in touch

Reach out using the contact form, by email or by phone. Tell me a little about what’s bringing you to counselling — there’s no need to have it all worked out.

Your first session

We’ll meet for a relaxed first session to talk through what you’re experiencing and what you’d like from counselling. It’s a chance to see how it feels to work together.

Ongoing support

From there we agree a way of working that suits you — fixed weekly or fortnightly sessions, or a more flexible arrangement — at a pace that feels right.

How long are sessions and how often will we meet?

Sessions are 50 minutes. Many people find weekly or fortnightly sessions helpful, but we’ll agree a frequency that works for you.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes. What you share is confidential, within the ethical framework of the NCPS. There are rare exceptions — for example where there is a serious risk of harm — which I’ll always talk through with you. [Confirm full confidentiality wording with Emma]

Do you offer online and face-to-face sessions?

Yes — I offer sessions online, by telephone and face-to-face, so we can choose what suits you best.

How do I get started?

Simply get in touch and we’ll arrange a first session. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance.
